Volunteer Opportunities

FJNWA is more than an organization—it’s a community-led movement. By volunteering, you become part of a grassroots effort to build food justice, increase access, and transform how our neighborhoods nourish themselves. Whether you have one hour or a whole season, your time makes a tangible impact.

Join us at gardening days, farmers markets, and community events! Please visit our volunteer page for a list of upcoming opportunities and registration details.

Attend a Workshop

Garden Workshop Series

FJNWA hosts gardening workshops led by local partners and growers to provide community members hands-on gardening education, opportunities to practice and share skills with other growers, and gain resources to successfully grow produce such as seeds, plant starts, access to community garden plots, and small funds to help with gardening materials and costs.

If you are interested in participating in this season's gardening workshops, please fill out the interest form.

Join Our Community

Community Advisory & Action Committee

The CAAC was created to provide a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment for northwest Aurora residents to build community power and lead the hyper-local food justice movement, fueled by their unique perspectives, experiences, and expertise. CAAC members will work as liaisons and organizers, advocating for the needs and priorities of marginalized community members, leading FJNWA actions, and bringing opportunities and other local updates back to their neighborhoods and guide strategy and decision making for programmatic, policy, and advocacy efforts.

Recruitment cycles begin in November and end in January. If you are interested in learning more about the CAAC, please contact imelda@foodjusticenwaurora.org.

FJNWA Board

Recruitment for the FJNWA Board occurs every fall. If you are interested in joining the Board, please contact us at info@foodjusticenwaurora.org.
